Re: Twickenham Riverside
Dear
Editor,
My daily reading of your Journal caused me some concern to day with it's
praise by our council of St. George plc and the 'extended thanks for it's
involvement in the development of luxury residential enclaves on the riverside'
at Kew, Teddington and Twickenham in our Borough and the niebouring boroughs
of Kingston and Hounslow. This together with part of a 'deal' with St.
George plc to clean graffiti and mindless vandalism with a dedicated team
who patrol the area.
Cabinet member Cllr. John Ross is to meet with St. George to thank the
Company and stage a 'publicity event and photocall' on the Wednesday before
the next cabinet meeting at which a momentous decision on the Twickenham
swimming baths site is to be made.
Could this be part of a softening up process on the people of Twickenham
in preparation for another unwanted luxury gated development?
I think this will set the alarm bells ringing again in Twickenham.
Yours sincerely,
Ken Elmes
