Diana Collier Sir On the subject of the Community gains from the Dawney Day Twickenham Riverside scheme I would like to ask a question of those who are promoting this astonishing development. As I understand it the existing toilets on the riverside site are to be demolished. The Ladies public toilet contains six cubicals, five wash hand basins, an attendant's room plus lots of space for waiting children etc and is free to use. I am told the Gents public toilet contains 9 urinals, 4 cubicals, three wash hand basins, an attendants office and it is also free to use. The amenities are good although somewhat outdated but could be modernized and the buildings refurbished. The community gain from Phase One of the Dawney Day Scheme is to be two automated unisex toilets. This means 9 free cubicals and 9 free urinals are replaced by two pay machines. Where is the community gain in this and where will children be able to wait in safety whilst their parent is spending a pound using the toilet? Diana Collier
