re: LBRuT Financial Accountability
27 February 2002

Dear Sir,

I refer to letter dated 25th January 2002 in which I asked our Council leader, Serge Lourie for some answers on the subject of funding for the Swimming Pool site dating back to the mid 1980's.

It would appear that either he wishes to ignore an uncomfortable question or he is too busy polishing up his 3 minute presentation favouring the over-development of the site ready for Thursday evening's meeting. He is normally so prompt, but not necessarily correct in his responses to letters to your correspondents to your pages, but at least they are given the courtesy of a response.

Why is it that nobody within Councillor Lourie's coterie of colleagues wishes to respond on this matter? Have they got something to hide?

Or maybe he will shock us all by revealing the answer to the community that evening as to what happened to the £363,000 remaining from the original £500,000 set aside for the pool site.

Now that would be something we haven't heard before!

Yours faithfully,

Robert Bowcock
