Back in April 2003 the eternally optimistic Iraqi information minister, on a visit to the borough, had some convenient words for the people of Richmond upon Thames about public toilets.

Question: Why has the borough insisted on shutting all the public toilets?

MSS Answer: There are toilets all over Richmond.
I will take you to them in one hour and I will show you how to use them
- you can use them yourselves if you like!
If the people have a problem, the borough will give them
a spade and they can use the allotments.
These lies are put around by villains and unbelievers
and Liberals who have no shame about lying.
May they be accursed! They deserve only to be beaten with shoes.
