ATTACK IN WHITTON
An elderly man was the victim of grievous bodily harm after a stabbing and rolling pin attack at Gosling Road, Whitton, on December 27, leaving him with head and chest wounds. The medical helicopter was called and a suspect arrested at the scene.

School safety zones in Marble Hill and Hampton Wick, a 20mph zone for Waldegrave Road, a puffin crossing for Uxbridge Road in Hampton and a controlled parking zone for Kew were all on the agenda for the Transport Consultative Group on 21 January.

In a bid to instil safer driving habits among young motorists, Richmond Council's Safety Education Team launches a course that includes skid cars, articulated lorries and double-deckers.

Richmond BCTV offers the chance to learn skills that will benefit the local ecology, with hedgelaying.


PUPILS' PROGRESS
Richmond's schools are 8th out of the 32 London Boroughs for pupils' results, but only 27th for pupils' progress, says MP.


NO MORE FREE HALF-HOUR
Richmond Council is dropping its free half-hour parking voucher scheme for residents and increasing parking charges in controlled parking zones.
