Parking problems at Gander Green

Residents of Gander Green in Hampton are finding that their road is being used as a car park by people from outside the area.

Cars block the road and the pavement, sometimes in the most antisocial way, they say.

Richmond Council has yet to adopt the road and open green space from the original developers, Berkeley Homes, and informed residents that it could not therefore do anything about the excessive parking.

A council spokesman added: "Concerning Gander Green Crescent, we are aware of the problems. This road is due to be adopted , which would enable the Council to take appropriate action to deal with such parking.

"We are investigating whether there is any action we can take currently under the provisions of the new London Local Authorities Act.

"I would add that we are continuing to meet with the developer, Berkeley Homes, concerning the development and adoption of this road."
